At first, I was pretty worried that I wouldn't be able to find a good coffee shop in Abilene when I moved back last year. I am so happy that I found Mad Coffee and the wonderful staff that make up this nice little spot for coffee, study, community and the like. They bring in their coffee from Austin and it's really, really good. I normally get a medium cup of what they call a "Green Eye," that is three shots of espresso and the rest filled with regular coffee. It makes for a tasty and very caffeinated treat and will last me the entire day. I dare not to drink it all at once so consider yourself warned. :) My other favorites include the peach/mango smoothie and their beloved cold brew coffee. In my opinion, you cannot go wrong with either of these options.
Besides the coffee and the treats that they offer, you will be happy to find yourself inside a comfortable and very welcoming coffee shop that has very clean bathrooms and nice background music.
While I have found a few other coffee shops in the area, I continue to come back to Mad because of the super friendly service and the coffee, of course. I am so happy that I found my hangout, here in Abilene. I highly recommend giving Mad Coffee a try.
Stay caffeinated, my friends.

A cute coffee shop located right off the highway in Abilene, TX. It is by itself across from a gas station, kind of out of the way from most stuff in Abilene.
I stopped here while on the road and order an ice coffee. I thought the coffee was good but was quiet acidic, which I do not care for. Apart from that, the coffee did its job and the staff was nice.
The shop itself had a lot of comfy looking couches so it may be a good place to go study or hang out. Overall a decent place in Abilene. -

Great coffee shop. It's located a little on the outskirt where nothing is surrounding the shop. A pro and a con in itself I guess. Super spacious and they have outlets available! What more could you ask for? Very study friendly or a nice place to catch up with your friends.
I went here on a Saturday to study with a friend and I was surprised to see how clean this coffee shop was. Don't get me wrong, that's what I expect of most places, but I assumed it would be a little rustic but this place is actually pretty modern. There is even an area that allows you to open the windows to enjoy the outside air (another bonus). There is a bar area seating away from the actual place they make drinks which is nice. That's where the outlets are for regular plugs and USB ports. A lot of different options to get as far as drinks. You can add different flavors and make your own creation or just ask the barista. The staff was nice and they were very chill too. A lot of the times they just sat on the couch and relaxed until a customer stops on by. There's also a drive-thru for those who are in a rush and want a cup of Jo. Snacks are also sold there as far as baked goods.
I'm a definite fan of this place and am so glad I stopped by. I got the ice matcha latte. It was definitely matcha but I would have liked it sweeter like at Starbucks. They allowed me to add syrup but I felt guilty adding more so I just drank it as it is. Next time, I'll try another drink and try to experiment more. -

This place frustrates me. The location is very convenient and the staff is friendly but the drinks are overpriced and never taste the same. It's like each person has their own recipe. I like the Carmel Frappe. It cost me $7 and some change for just the medium!! Price has actually gone up twice now since they opened and the drink NEVER taste the same. There have been a handful of times that I have gone and it taste so delicious, other times it's average at best, today my drink taste awful. I order the same thing every time. Not sure why it's never the same. If I am paying over $7 for one drink it needs to be delicious every time. Over all taste is just so inconsistent. I think I'm done wasting my money and hoping each time I like the flavor of what I'm getting.

Okay let's talk serious. Hands down best gluten free dessert. The chocolate torte. Holy yummy. It also come in vanilla but I think the chocolate is better. The frozen hot chocolate is very good also. I get whipped cream mixed in and on the top:)
